Mission to Ethiopia
|
An American Lutheran Memoir
Leonard Flachman & Merlyn Seitz, editors
|
The tenure of the American Lutherans with the church in Ethiopia lasted a short 46 years. The Americans and a few colleagues from Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands came to serve under the auspices of The American Lutheran Mission, Radio Voice of the Gospel, and the Ethiopian Evangelical Church - Mekane Yesus. They came with high aspirations to accomplish great things for the Gospel and they found themselves in an evolving transition from a foreign mission organization to an indigenous church. The evangelical movement in Ethiopia had a much longer history, and by the power of the spirit grew to encompass the work of the mission.
As you read the memoirs in this book, you will see the anxiety, the wonder, and their infatuation with the country and the Ethiopian people as the Americans watch the Spirit of God at work.
