Cultivating a Colorado Community
The Presbyterian Westminster University, known as the Princeton of the West, gave Westminster its name and bragging rights to be the Athens of the West, the Rome of the Rockies, and ultimately the Westminster of the American West.
This book is a celebration of Westminster, Colorado, and its people. Commemorating the 100 year history of a city that abuts Denver but draws its identity as its own community, it provides an immensely readable look backward over a century that saw Westminster grow from a rural, agricultural village in the midst of apple orchards to the modern, beautiful and livable city. The heart of Westminster is the energetic and involved citizens who are willing to roll up their sleeves, go to work and do whatever needs to be done.
Included are profiles of 100 Historymakers—those who made contributions to the community and the civic self-awareness of Westminster; and more than 200 photos and images that bring Westminster history to life.
