Kirk House Publishers is a privately-owned, independent publisher. The Kirk House imprint was established in 1994 by Leonard Flachman and Karen Walhof, who had worked for a combined 46 years for a major publisher. They brought their long experience and commitment to quality to their new company.
Kirk House has nearly 200 titles in print in three imprints: Kirk House Publishers, Quill House Publishers, and Lutheran University Press. The catalog is quite eclectic, including titles in a number of genre. An increasing number of titles are now available as ebooks.
Books published under the Kirk House imprints are available through the three company websites (www.kirkhouse.com. www.quill-house.com, www.lutheranupress.org), from Amazon.com, the Barnes & Noble online catalog, and are listed in the international edition of Books in Print. Many other genre specific website catalogs carry the Kirk House books. Through a national wholesaler the chain and independent bookstores have easy ordering access to the books.
Both Flachman and Walhof enjoy working with authors to facilitate the publishing of their manuscripts.
